Overview

Over the years PRL has become the go-to shop for Honda and Acura performance, and the High Volume Intake System raises the bar for air intakes on the FL5 and DE5 platforms. It pairs a 6" cone filter with an HDPE rotomolded airbox that reuses the factory air duct and seal for optimal airflow and heat-soak reduction. The factory rubber inlet connects to the box and extends over the core support, sealing to the hood and channeling air in through a duct in front of the radiator support.

Third-party testing showed a 10–20 hp loss with the hood closed, pointing to the factory duct as a restriction — so PRL added a secondary duct to cure that air starvation. With the inlet opening maximized and the secondary duct removing restrictions, the system flows 133% more air than the OE unit. A stepped silicone design matches each coupler to its connection point for smooth transitions and minimal intake-tract resistance. As with every PRL intake, the MAF housing is designed for a factory-like fuel trim and clean drivability.
