Overview

Owners have complained for years about aftermarket motor mounts adding harsh rattle and vibration. PRL developed a proper solution: a rear motor mount that uses two press-fit 60A EPDM bushings rather than the single bushing found on most aftermarket mounts. Real-world data and feedback from many vehicles and drivers shaped a one-size-fits-all design.

The core of the mount is an I-beam — a shape that resists bending, stress, vibration and deflection — with significant material added for rigidity and strength over the factory part. All bushings are press-fit into a precision-machined billet 6061 aluminium assembly, eliminating any gap so there are no metallic vibrations or noises and the EPDM can absorb engine and chassis movement. Bushing shells and center inserts are zinc-coated for corrosion resistance.

Why EPDM?

EPDM resists heat, ozone, weather, chemicals, solvents, abrasion, tearing and vibration. Because it is denser than urethane, PRL can run a softer, lower-durometer bushing to keep engine vibration to a minimum while still improving rigidity over the factory mount. Unlike urethane inserts, EPDM will not mushroom, wallow out or break down over time — it is the same class of bushing OE manufacturers use.
